The Eagles are the NFC's Hottest Team

Could this unit be the first to bring home the Lombardi?

Maybe you are holding your excitement until the playoffs begin. Maybe you refuse to get excited because, as an Eagles' fan, you have been teased too many times before by the the men in green.
But as they say on ESPN... "Come on Man!"

Even the biggest of skeptics have to unwillingly admit that what the Eagles have done so far this season is pretty amazing. The Eagles have already clinched a playoff birth, an NFC East crown is almost a certainty, and with two more wins accompanied with one more Vikings loss, the Eagles are the NFC's No. 2 seed, with a first round playoff bye.

All of the above is pretty remarkable considering...

- McNabb missed 2+ games with an injury
- Brian Westbrook (who coming into the season was the team's No. 1 playmaker) has 47 total carries
- Kevin Curtis (the team's projected No. 2 WR) has six total receptions
- The OL was totally revamped with three new starters
- A possible All-Pro MLB was lost before game one
- A legendary defensive mind and coach was lost in the off-season

I could go on, but I am sure you get the point.

To date, and with a 10-4 record, Reid and McNabb are having stellar seasons. McNabb is displaying veteran leadership to an offensive filled with youth and inexperience. Reid is putting together balanced game plans and finally learning from past mistakes. Hate them for previous season failures, but give them their props for turning a rebuilding project into a major success.

So join me in a glass (or at least a shot) of the Eagles kool-aid. Right now there is no team hotter in the NFC than our Eagles. With so many unexpected things turning into positives this season, who knows just how far the ride will go this year?!
