Breaking News: Eagles Trade First Round Pick for Pigeon

Written By Bob Cunningham On Tuesday, October 20, 2009

Philly hasn't been this excited since 1776.

Andy Reid said that the Eagles were looking to make a move before the trade deadline, and they've done just that.

In a blockbuster move, and the first of its kind, the Philadelphia Eagles have traded for another bird. Andy Reid has sent a first round pick to the Oakland Raiders for the pigeon from last Sunday.

The pigeon will be brought in to play middle linebacker, left tackle, and will also play on the kickoff team as the contain man. The Eagles are looking at him as a kick returner as well, since Quintin Demps and Ellis Hobbs aren't exactly working out, but that seems like a longshot.

"His beak isn't quite big enough to hold the ball, and he has no arms, so it's going to be tough," coach Reid said during a press conference earlier today.

In addition to the first round pick, the Eagles sent the Raiders left tackle King Dunlap, middle linebacker Jeremiah Trotter, and Andy Reid's play-calling sheet. Immediately upon receiving the players, the Raiders commented, "We decided that after watching them play, even we don't want them."

Both players were cut right there in front of everyone, then Tom Cable punched them both in the face for good luck. Why? Nobody knows, but he thought it was hilarious.

Al Davis demanded that the play-calling sheet be enshrined in the Raiders hall of fame, as it is the sole reason that the Raiders still qualify as an NFL-caliber team.

The Eagles are excited to have the pigeon on board, and hope that he can make an immediate impact. However he's already causing some trouble in the locker room, as he accidentally brushed his wing on Shawn Andrew's shoulder, causing him to crumble to the floor yelling that his back had broken in six different places.

In other breaking news, I'm disgusted with this team for the rest of the week.
