-- Kevin Kolb did not look as good as his stats would suggest. He looked panicked, got happy feet, and missed some reads. But for more on that, click here.

-- The playcalling in the red zone is atrocious. Did they run the ball one time inside the 20-yard line? Does Andy Reid understand that passing the ball becomes more and more difficult the closer an offense gets to the sideline?

-- This team won't score a single red zone touchdown all season if they can't establish some sort of running game. Plain and simple. Teams must at least have the thought in the back of their collective head that a run might be coming. That brings them closer to the line and allows for those quick pop passes we see the other 31 teams execute.

-- The stats of this game are enough to make you cringe, regardless of team affiliation.

-- Jason Peters and Max Jean-Gilles just looked lazy tonight. Their combo blocking was laughable, their pass blocking was mediocre, and they couldn't even get it together long enough to actually line up on the ball. Both must step it up big time -- Peters especially.

-- What happened to Mike McGlynn in a week? He looked so good against the Jaguars but seemed completely lost against the Bengals. Sure, Cincy's defense is much better, but I don't think they were doing anything too confusing.

-- Stacy Andrews looked okay. Not bad, not good, just okay.

-- Ditto for Winston Justice, although he was flagged for something I can't recall off the top of my head. I'm going to guess holding. Or maybe for not being on the line. Everyone got flagged for that at some point.

-- DeSean Jackson looked good. He and Kolb seem to have a good chemistry already and it should only get better as the season progresses. I would like to see DJack be a bit more aggressive in moving up the field once he catches the ball rather than dancing, however.

-- Jeremy Maclin plays scared. We could all see it when they had him returning punts, and now it's starting to show on offense. He's going to get himself killed if he doesn't start either avoiding contact entirely with his speed or dishing out some hits.

-- Brent Celek had a poor game for the second consecutive week. There's no real reason to worry just yet, but hopefully he can get things together for next week.

-- Did Clay Harbor or Cornelius Ingram even see the field?

-- Were it not for the $500,000 or so in guaranteed money, Mike Bell might be out of a job.

-- I still like Eldra Buckley and hope he's the third running back. Martell Mallett is clearly more talented and has a lot of upside, but I love Buckley's running style and the way he plays special teams. He's making things difficult for Reid and Howie Roseman.

-- Speaking of special teams, they looked dreadful -- especially the coverage teams. What in the world were they all doing? Do they know they're not matadors?

-- Jeff Garcia, the Eagles are on line one.

-- Seriously though, how bad did Mike Vick and Kafka look? Vick's second interception wasn't his fault as Dallas Reynolds got pushed back into him and Vick was unable to follow through, but it's still not enough to excuse that performance.

-- Brandon Graham is going to be a special player. The kid has one of the quickest first steps I've seen from a rookie in a long time. He just has to learn to keep his momentum under control and not run past the quarterback.

-- Aside from getting run over by Cedric Benson, Nate Allen had a decent night.

-- It's hard not to be impressed by Ellis Hobbs. He showed in camp that he's willing to be physical, and that just might be enough to overshadow his inadequacies in man coverage.

-- Overall, watching the backups gave me a headache. There was some bad football being played and it made the starters look like a group of Hall of Famers -- for both teams.

-- It's going to be hard to cut Dimitri Patterson. They might have to do some roster shuffling in order to find a way to keep him around as he's outperformed Trevard Lindley and Macho Harris.

-- Draft David Akers in your fantasy league.

-- Stewart Bradley, Ernie Sims, Akeem Jordan, and Brodrick Bunkley were highly unimpressive and nowhere to be found when a play needed to be made. If they can't get it together, it's going to be a very long season for this defense.

-- Trevor Laws, however, looked fantastic. He was shedding blocks, flying around, making plays, and appears to be headed in the right direction.

-- Moise Fokou was taking some snaps at defensive end. When they're moving a guy around like that trying to find a spot for him, it usually means his time is almost up. Fokou could wind up as a surprise cut if the team like Keenan Clayton and Jamar Chaney too much to cut either one.

-- The football spread had the Bengals winning by at least three Friday night. I'll retroactively take that bet. Is that allowed?
