McNabb and the Eagles have been through worse.
Perspective people, perspective...Please.
The Eagles will be fine this week. Yes, the Eagles "messed the bed" last Sunday, but it was one game. The Eagles are still winners of six of their last seven games. The Eagles still qualify as one of the hottest teams, if not the hottest, in the NFL over the NFL's second half.
We are Eagles fans so Sunday's performance shouldn't be shocking. When Reid and McNabb lose, they tend to really blow it. See games against the Ravens and Redskins last season as examples 1 and 2.
Please also see the Raiders game from earlier this season. Frustrating to say the least. But guess what? The Eagles are going to rebound.
They always do.
And you know who will lead the turnaround this weekend against the Cowboys? Yep, everyone's favorite press conference villain, Donovan McNabb. Just look at his performances, since last season's Ravens' game, following an Eagles loss:
- Completing 64% of his passes
- 7 TDs
- 2 Interceptions
- A QB Rating between 91.4 and 116.2
- 256 passing yards per game
Dominant numbers.
Sure Donovan's comments may sometimes not reflect a veteran, but his play on the field does. When the team is down McNabb leads by example where it matters most...on the field.
So please Philly media enough with the McNabb bashing this week. Give the guy another week. Let's see if history repeats itself this Saturday in Dallas. Because if it does, guess which of the following will happen:
a) McNabb puts up big numbers
b) The Eagles Win
c) Tony Romo and Wade Phillips remain winless in the playoffs
d) The Cowboys playoff win drought goes into another decade
e) All of the above
And if the answer isn't E, well there is all off-season to bash #5 and the Eagles. This fan is already thinking New Orleans.
