Justice must be yanked away from somebody by Gaither.
While there was a little scrap at Eagles camp a few days ago, there was a pretty big one today during team contact drills.
It's still not exactly clear what happened, but all we saw at the end of it was Winston Justice being ripped away from somebody by Omar Gaither.
While this may not sound like a big deal, it just shows that this puppy is ready to bite.
Of course I'm referring to Hugh Douglas' now infamous quote regarding Justice:
"If they don't bite when they're puppies, they're not going to bite when they're grown dogs,'' Douglas, the former Eagles Pro Bowl defensive end, said about Justice on WIP-610 AM's Morning Show. "It just doesn't look like he has any fight in him. If you look at his demeanor, it's like he's not even a football player.
There's no doubt he can do it,'' Douglas said, when asked if he felt Justice could bounce back from the Giants game. "I just don't think he has that mentality. You don't have to talk a lot out there, but you've got to play with a swagger, with a chip on your shoulder. I remember seeing that in Tra Thomas his rookie year. Shawn Andrews has that certain swagger. I don't think Winston has it.''
Well it looks as though Justice may be out to prove Douglas, and everyone else, wrong.
There were some whispers that it may have been linebacker Charleston "Chew" Hughes, but I never was able to hear exactly with whom he was fighting. Someone had said that MJG may have started it by shoving Gaither, then Justice jumped in at some point, but I'm not really sure.
All I know is that whoever it was, it was good to see Justice take a swing. He needs to show the coaching staff that he is ready to become that nasty player that an offensive lineman needs to be. He always came across as a soft guy, but a few landed punches will go a long way in clearing that up.
Training camp scuffles happen, and as long as it's the players dealing with it, the coaches don't say a whole lot. If they have to intervene, then it becomes a problem.
Justice has been starting at right tackle in place of the injured Shawn Andrews, which means good things for Justice. It shows that the Eagles obviously like him as a backup and feel comfortable with him at right tackle should the worst happen. Well, perhaps saying they'd start him is a bit premature, but if he keeps showing this fire he may work up to that point.
Justice is a guy who I'm rooting for as I think he could be a fine player if he just can get the NFL mentally. He's blessed with natural ability, and has good size to go along with it. Hopefully this is a sign of good things to come.

He just needs 2 play. Hes been big in TC this year and has been bangin. I think AR by the end TC will Finally have the Winston Justice he drafted. I agree with Hugh Douglas initial assesment of Winston Justice, the NFL will have to move out the way for this kid very soon.
I hope you're right. He's certainly starting to show that he wants this. He has the ability, it's always been about the mental aspect of it.
