Man Accuses Harrison of Being Involved With Second Shooting

Written By Bob Cunningham On Friday, July 24, 2009

If true, this could hurt Harrison's great legacy.

Either there's a side to Marvin Harrison that he does a very good job of not showing, or there is a man out there who has a real vendetta against him.

Dwight Dixon would be the name of that man. He is the same guy who fingered Harrison in a shooting in Philadelphia nearly 15 months ago, and has accused Harrison of having a connection to the most recent shooting.

Dixon claimed that Harrison shot at him those 15 months ago, then dumped the gun. Apparently Harrison isn't a very good shot, because he only hit Dixon once in the hand. This time, however, Dixon was shot seven times by a man he says was hired by Harrison.

(If you're keeping count, that's eight times this guy has been shot. Only one less than rapper 50 Cent. Apparently if he gets shot one more time he can ink a deal with Interscope records.

"You're welcome," says Marvin Harrison.)

Harrison was accused by Dixon before he slipped into a coma a couple days ago. Police say that they will have to wait until Dixon wakes up before being able to check into why he accuses Harrison.

Which brings up interesting holes in the man, and the man's story (sorry).

If Harrison shot him that first time back on April 28 of 2008, why did he lie to cops? He was recently convicted of a misdemeanor connected to that lie in January of this year. Also, as is the case with Ben Roethlisberger and his accuser, why only a civil case and not a criminal case?

I know if someone raped/shot me, I'd want them brought up on criminal charges.

Let's say it is Harrison behind these shootings (we're saying that only for argument's sake), what does this man think is going to happen if he wins however many million dollars he's attempting to collect in a civil case?

Given that Harrison has allegedly had something to do with him being shot eight times, don't you think Harrison would just have the job done right this time?

I think I'd want the guy who shot me behind bars so he couldn't do it a second, or rather, third time.

There are way too many inconsistencies to believe anything Mr. Dixon is saying at this point.

Considering the civil case and no criminal charges, the fact that he was convicted of lying to cops regarding this situation already, and that Harrison was never even charged in the first shooting would make it extremely difficult to pin anything on Harrison short of an eye-witness.

Did Harrison have something to do with one or both shootings? I have no idea as to the answer of that question. Philadelphia District Attorney Lynne Abraham says she is confident that she knows who was holding the gun, but won't say based on lack of evidence.

The feeling is that this case will pick up significantly in the next few days, so stay tuned.
